Arc Flash is tricky when a large about of the short circuit available is within the generating station itself. This creates challenges with determining the proper incident energy and what are “normal” operating scenarios when electrical workers when electrical workers are exposed to the hazards.
In this webinar I will cover the scenarios in a simple generating station that has two hydro units. This can be expanded to facilities that have different types of generators and numbers.
We will go through the typical scenarios, how to properly model the dynamics of the arc flash current for a “typical” hydro unit and template recommendations that I include in my arc flash reports, and why.
The webinar will be live at 12pmEST on September 9, 2020
We will have a short refresher on what arc flash is and then move quickly into how the changes to IEEE 1584 have been applied in the industry.
